For several months, in the Fall of this year (2009) – as in some previous months – rumors began circulating, on the Internet, that Myatt had returned to his much revised mystical philosophy, The Numinous Way. Indeed, one of Myatt’s own Islamist websites was – twice, and for several days – changed, with his Islamist articles replaced either by a blank screen (on the one occasion) or by Numinous Way articles apparently taken from The Numinous Way Foundation website at www.wulstan.info

Interestingly, though, two of Myatt’s other Islamist websites – mirrors of the aforementioned one – remained unchanged.

Some people, on viewing the changed website, immediately jumped to the conclusion that Myatt had renounced his Muslim faith, with several articles, and items, about this matter of his alleged renunciation appearing on various blogs and Internet forums, from White supremacist ones, to a Muslim one. This changed website (caused, apparently by someone hacking it), and the rumors, even led to someone altering the Wikipedia article about Myatt, which indirectly alleged Myatt had rejected Islam. Even I myself – with hindsight, perhaps rather rashly – made some comment on the matter.

When contacted directly about the matter, and about the claim of him leaving Islam, Myatt wrote, quoting from a recent article of his:

” Certainly, such a claim was made – on the Internet, of course – and certainly it seems as if some people believed it, without ever bothering to contact me in person to verify it. In fact, of the thousands who read about this claim – for it was mentioned on an Islamic Internet forum, and elsewhere – only three individuals contacted me personally, and to them I explained, privately, the truth of the matter.

Until now, I have not publicly responded to this particular claim, nor explained the circumstances which might have led to it, for several reasons. Because I assumed Muslims would apply the noble principle of husn udh-dhan; because such claims, such accusations, such rumours about me and my Islam, regularly appear on the Internet, and have done so for nearly ten years; because I have previously and consistently rebutted all such claims, rumours and accusations, year after year, month after month, for nearly a decade, often as soon as they were made; and because, perhaps most important of all, as I said above, it is the judgement, of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala that matters, not what others may say or believe or assume about me. Nothing is hidden from Allah, Al-Kabeer, As-Sami, Al-Hakam, Al-Mu’iz, Al-Wadud.

Thus, in truth, I did not see why I should react to yet one more accusation; to yet one more claim; to yet one more rumour; to yet more doubts about my Islam, my sincerity. Surely, I have said and written enough – in the past ten years – about such claims, accusations, and rumours. If others choose, for whatever reason and from whatever intention, to believe such Internet-spread claims, accusations, or rumours, then they do.” (Addendum to his article, Islam, National-Socialism, and Honour, dated 16 Shaban 1430)

This decision by Myatt to initially make no comment about the matter is, certainly, understandable, given – as he writes – the similar accusations made against him, over and over again, for ten years or more, and also given the sometimes vitriolic campaigns waged against him, on the Internet and otherwise, by those who, for whatever reason, apparently hate or dislike Myatt, for whatever reason, and from whatever personal motive.

What I, personally, find of interest about the whole matter is Myatt’s statement that:

Perhaps some of these people spreading rumours and allegations about me, hope that by trying to discredit me they can spread dissension and cause disunity among the Ummah, for as a kaffir wrote some years ago: “We do not want a war with Islam, we want a war within Islam.” (Thomas Friedman, New York Times, December 12, 2001 CE)

Certainly, this might be one quite plausible explanation of the matter in question.

Editorial Note: We present here an extract  from an item David Myatt has issued concerning recent rumors of him having abandoned Islam in favor of his Numinous Way philosophy.

The item, by Myatt,  appeared on Myatt’s Islamist website, after that website was down for several days, and then his Islamist writings removed and replaced by “old” Numinous Way material, before his Islamist material was restored.

Such a replacement of material on such Myattian sites was a topic of a thread, some months ago, on the well known Islamist forum Islamic Awakening:

http://forums.islamicawakening.com/abdul-aziz-ibn-myatt-ibnmyatt-2.html

Some of these changes were attributed to “hacking” of such sites, by one or more of Myatt’s enemies, possibly including The Anonymous Myatt Obsessed Coward who has spend the last three years posting nearly a hundred anti-Myatt tirades on message boards and forums, and setting up nearly a dozen anti-Myatt blogs devoted to trying to smear Myatt by accusations ranging from computer hacking, to attacks on disabled people.

According to Myatt himself: “Perhaps some of these people hope that by trying to discredit me, they can spread dissension and cause disunity among the Ummah, for as a kaffir wrote some years ago: “We do not want a war with Islam, we want a war within Islam.” (Thomas Friedman, New York Times, December 12, 2001 CE)

As Myatt says in one of his recent article about such matters, he is now certainly hated, as a “race-traitor”, by many neo-nazis and members of groups such as the BNP – for converting to Islam and condemning, as a Muslim, both racism and nationalism. Certainly, many zionists seem to have a rather pathological hatred of Myatt, as witness the zionist stalker who cyber stalked and harassed Myatt for several years and who made many accusations about him, including – notably – that Myatt had abandoned Islam, something which Myatt denied on a thread devoted to this zionist stalker, on IA forums:

http://forums.islamicawakening.com/f20/omnipitus2006s-obsession-ibn-myatt-1838/

For myself, being suspicious by nature and sometimes rather conspiracy minded, I do wonder if some of these many Internet “changes” – on Myatt’s own sites, or on sites by his supporters – are sometimes deliberately done, perhaps even by Myatt himself, as test for those reading and discovering them. For like Myatt says in the article below: ” In many ways, such rumours and allegations about me are a good test of a person’s character: of their honour and their loyalty…”

If this conspiracy theory of mine is correct, then just how many people have failed the test?

But, were I being even more conspiracy minded, I might be inclined to believe that either Myatt himself, or some of his supporters, or both, could also be playing games – having japes – with “the authorities” (such as the intelligence services of various nations-States) and with mundanes in general. Keeping them guessing, confusing them, kind of thing.

But, then again, may be we should just go with the simple explanation – that of Myatt’s many enemies who seem to hate him with an almost religious zeal, for, like Isaac Newton said, “We are to admit no more causes of natural things than such as are both true and sufficient to explain their appearance….. for Nature is pleased with simplicity, and affects not the pomp of superfluous causes.”

Concerning Rumours and Allegations

There is a lot of disinformation about me on the Internet and in various books; and many unsubstantiated rumours. This is where – yet again – I find and have found the behaviour of Muslims to be honourable, for it is principle of Islam for Muslims to be suspicious of, and to ignore, rumours and allegations about one of their brothers and sisters. And this honourable behaviour of Muslims is in complete and stark contrast to the behaviour of the vast majority of those who call and called themselves “National Socialists” (or “white nationalists”), as I know from my own experience during my Jahil days, and is obvious whenever I, as a Muslim, am mentioned by such Jahil individuals today, for they dishonourably persist in believing and spreading such disinformation, rumours and allegations…

My only loyalty and obedience is to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, and this means that I strive to follow the perfect example of Allah’s Messenger and Prophet, Muhammad (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Thus, in many ways, such rumours and allegations about me may be a good test of a person’s character: of their honour and their loyalty.

It was reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that Allah’s Messenger (salla Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

He who believes in Allah and the Last Day should either speak honourably or be silent. Muslim, Book 1, 75

As Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says:

“Those who seek dignity and honour should know that they derive from Allah (alone).” 35:10 Interpretation of Meaning
